The Ab·core Platform Heightens Its Accessibility
This week we have improved the Ab·core platform by making it more accessible for the visually impaired.
Before, when a visually impaired person used the screen reader, one page replaced another. This meant that the user had to scroll through each of the menus and sub-menus on every new page, making reading slow. Now, they can skip material, should they so wish.
With this, the accessibility of the Ab·core platform and its sites has been enhanced yet again. Previously added was alternative photograph text, which provides a written explanation of the content of photos we publish.
Many of these improvements are responses to suggestions from the Catalan Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, beneficiaries of iwith.org, who work eagerly to make sure that the Internet is also somewhere that can be enjoyed by those with visual impairments.
