Iwith.org has carried out a series of changes that allow organizations to
activate a comments section on their news items, allowing stakeholders, friends and/or readers to express their opinions on a particular article. We have taken every possible step to reduce the risk of
Spam. To achieve this, each comment has a
Captcha feature and comments can be sent to web administrators for approval before they are published.
As we were saying, you can now accept comments on your news items by going to
Manage Services -> News. It is easy to accept or reject a comment. If a message is rejected, or accepted by mistake, you can easily go back and change its status by selecting the appropriate filter.
In order to avoid
Spam, at the time of creating your comments section you should fill out a
Captcha, or challenge-response test, as seen in the graphic below, which is commonly used in computing to determine whether or not a user is human. By doing this, you can avoid being indiscriminately sent messages by HTML robots.
To use this new tool you should go to Services Setup:
- Comments can be activated for all news items, no news items or you can decide for each individual article
- It is possible to define the status of cybernauts' comments in order to indicate if we want to moderate or edit them before or after publishing
- It is possible to define whether or not we require an alert each time someone writes a new comment
- We can define the email address to which we would like our alerts to be sent.
As a result, when we look at the news listings we will be able to see not only the number of
views or visits but also the number of comments, which is a good indicator of the popularity of the article.
