News :: Improvements and patches :: Menu target can now be defined.

Headline news

The menu configuration has been improved to let us define the redirection of the clicked link. Automatically, it pops up in the same window but we can set it to open in a new window.

In general, a menu opens a range of possibilities. Traditionally, in the Ab.Core programme when you clicked on a link, it opened in the same window. Now all these menu contents can be displayed in new windows. Once you set up the menu, the target option or the site you want the link to open appears. As when you link something, the options are: to open in a frame, a popup window, a new window, a topmost window, the same window, a parent window.

To change the target of your menus you just need to go to "HTML Blocks" and then to "Menu"

Click on "items". You will see the list of your menus.
Click on "edit" of the item that you want to open in a new window.

(NOTE: the default target is always "current window", this is the best option).

You will see betweens the options:

      - the parent menu
      - the item title
      - the item URL
      - the target
      - the helptip

In "Target" you can select the diferent options where the page could be open.
The most common and easiest are "Current Window" and "New window".

You can use "New window" if you want that one of your menus open a page that is not in ASASS website.
In this way you will not lose visitors (they will see the other page, but ASASS website will keep visible).
Is better if you don't use this target menu option in your own webpages: you will open a lot of pages and is not so comfortable for visitors.
