18/08/2008 - New preferences on the news service and less bugs
Last weekend, we published a series of improvements, these are the details...
News Service:
Kind regards,
News Service:
- There is a new preference to indicate whether we want to show the section title when we are taking a look at the news list of a section.
- If the number of languages on the site is the same as 1, the option "All the languages" will not shown.
- There is a new preference which indicates if when assigning a directory subpermission that contains subdirectories, it applies only to this one or to the entire tree.
- Now, all the subpermissions have the "Only registered users" option, and it only allows a subpermission for a directory from this group.
- The entrance filter for Google Maps dimesions was modified in order to accept letters, because the habitual action is to add the unit (example: 400px)
- The URL that appears on the "GMaps" bubbles was modified so as to use the new enhanced format for search motors or compatible SEO.
Kind regards,
03/08/2008 - Improvements in content editors and new opportunities on the Ab.core site
The improvement that we are advertising will, we believe, be a help in optimising the work of those of us who publish content, whether it be news, events, videos or whatever. More to the point it will be useful to those of us who refer to this information on the home or other pages. If this first step is a success, this tool will soon be available for the newsletter service.
What’s more, this modernisation corrects a number of minor flaws and matters of style. Below is a by no means exhaustive list.
• The events RSS is working properly again
• Gone are some of br clear=all of the events service
• The term “tags” is replaced by “more on” to make it clearer for users.
• Improvement in the style of the social bookmarking links
• When saving a page with the web editor when it has Snippets at fixed points on the page, these are no longer duplicated.

16/05/2008 - Improvements in the news, events, WebPages and menus services
We've just published an updating which incorporates some improvements and corrects some of the faults in the news services- especially in the RSS readers, events, Web-editor and the menu system.
17/11/2007 - Important improvements on the Homepage
This week we have published an innovation that solves some minor failures, while introduces some enhancements as detailed below:
Homepage:
• Now this service is called Webpages, as we think this better matches with what the service is offering at present.
WebPages and Metatags:
• It allows defining Metatags for the redirection page. Usually, the redirection page sends the user to another page depending on the language or some other parameters. Search engines such as Google do see this page but so far it couldn’t be indexed because it wouldn’t have any content. We have added an option to insert metatags and define the text and links that the search engines will collect to enhance the indexation of the web site; this is, to make it easier to be selected by Google when related searches are run. It can be configured from: Services Setup -> WebPages -> Preferences.
Forms:
• Customfields such as country and UN delegations can now be defined as mandatory.
Sitemaps:
• Optimization of the URLs to be sent to Google. Elimination of external URLs that Google world not consider and therefore, would not help the web to be selected by the search engines.
News:
• A link has been added at the News service home to visualize the news in every language (not only the navigation language)
• Navigation by sections works correctly again.
We hope all this improvements will be of your interest!
